I thought it may be useful for the Gameleon community to be able to post their N4G links for others to approve - Does anyone agree?

I don't currently have the rights to approve - Does anyone know how to get these permissions?  Once I can start approving I'd be happy to approve other posts.

You need to post 5+ things that get approved, I think. To have the rights to approve things yourself, I mean.

Also, I hate N4G sometimes. It's not N4G's fault, but often I'll post something way ahead of anyone else and it'll just get overtaken by someone else's later repost. Woe is me, I guess.

I had to do a test, it's a simple one just read through the guide lines.
N4G is a bit evil but it's great for traffic, I've often been beaten down by bigger places stealing my story.

I despise N4G. It is incredibly useful for gaining traffic, but the majority of users seem to be scum (well, the vocal majority anyway, a lot of them seem to be raging fanboys). I'm open with my disdain for them, because as Joe mentioned, I'll occasionally post news that hasn't been covered and it'll be ignored and posted 3 days later... Infuriating!

I just use Raptr and Gamekicker now, it's a much nicer community and far easier to do.

N4G is "controlled" by a certain group. If your not within that group you may or may not get your stories approved. As mentioned, if it is approved, it can be a great traffic mover, but the question of whether they stay is a whole other matter. But some traffic I guess is better than nothing. I recently was watching the traffic to a site that submits all their posts to N4G vs my site where I rarely use N4G. Overall they get more hits, only about 100 more a day but I know my readers are coming back each time vs, their readers leave. So is the time spent submitting worth it, I am not so convinced.

Honestly, I find anything you can do to get readers to your site is worth it. Whether they stay or not is a different matter, but that is no different to any other means of advertisement. Not everyone can be a master at SEO, but these more social methods can pay off with perseverance.

At the end of the day it's the site's content that keeps the readers coming :)

I've had mixed success with N4G in the past. Each article that I have submitted (in my humble opinion) is of the utmost quality compared to most of the drivel on there. Some do well, others completely slip off the radar. However, it has encouraged me to be more creative with my posts as it's literally down to chance and a bit of luck as to whether or not your submissions will attract enough attention. Primarily, controversial fanboy flamebait and generic news articles do best but like I said, it really all depends when your post goes live as to the success of it. I also agree with the 'controlled by a certain group aspect'. On numerous occasions I have been asked to change an article's title, forced to adhere to strict guidelines, whilst others can get away with having a post called 'WHY CALL OF DUTY IZ GHEY' which links to about 200 words of incomprehensible rubbish. But hey that's the Internet for you! N4G can be great when it works, but sadly the interesting posts are often drowned out by the tirade of mediocrity. : )
